I am behind on my post here. I have been busy as ever. The store that I sell my batik clothing at just up and closed their doors so I have been trying to set up an online store (everytime consuming). I have also been selling/trading stuff on ebay and diaper swappers, making Tuli more diapers, she just keeps growing, busy with my photography business and chasing after the doodlebug and thankful Tuli can't crawl yet. Notice how house cleaning isn't in that list... yea it is a mess!
I wanted to get Tuli a knitted/crochet (no I do not do either nor am I going to start) wool skirt with bloomers (you can use them as a diaper cover because they are wicking) and really wanted it in primary rainbow colors. I could not find wool rainbow colored yarn except for custom dyed which was $23 a skein! I need 3 skeins! So I decided if I can batik I can dye yarn. After 2 trial runs one with batik dye and one with Kool-Aid I was confident enough to make my rainbow yarn! It turned out awesome. I am going to give it to the lady to knit the skirt on Monday. I bought my skein at Joann's with my coupons (thanks Donna) so they were $3 a piece instead of $6. Then the Kool-Aid (you need a lot) was $2.00 a skein... yep that is $5.00 a skein!!! Hooray!
